About us

“Time Out” magazine is a world famous publication. The magazine was published for the first time in 1968 in London.

At present time the magazine named “Time Out” is issued in over 15 capitals of the world. The first edition of “Time Out Tashkent” magazine was published on 28th November, 2003. This was a small (only 12 pages) black-and-white magazine. The next issue was published on 24thDecember – still small in volume. The readers’ responses of these first editions were favorable, and so the third edition timed for St. Valentine’s Day was created with great enthusiasm from the side of the editorial staff. Their effort was not put in vain. The readers responded to the articles but expressed the desire to see the future issues in color.

From March 2004 the magazine began to be published every month in color. Work on this magazine was worth continuing, and so in March 2004 the private company “Time Out” was registered in Tashkent (certificate No. 000380 dated 22 March 2004).

The staff of this company is not numerous – only 6 people, as well as 4 employees not on the permanent staff. The address of the editorial office: 45, Musakhanov Street, Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Director of the company: Yana Volokh graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economics (economist) and carries out the coordination of activities of the company on financial matters. Works with “Time Out”from the first days.

Editor: Dilyara Belova, graduated from the Tashkent State Technical University (design engineer). Plans the contents of the editions, write articles, works on the selection of staff and with advertisers in the cities of Fergana Valley, Karshi, Termez, and, of course, Tashkent. Her record of service in printing is small (only 2 years) but she spends much time on self-education. Working in “Time Out” from the first days. Single, has a daughter.

Marketing Manager: Tursunoy Hajimetova, graduated from the Tashkent Pedagogical College. Carries out all the work with partners in Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Khiva, Bishkek, Almata, and, of course, Tashkent. Has worked a few years in the sphere of tourism, started her career in company which engaged in the organization of tourist exhibitions in Uzbekistan. Works in “Time Out” company from the first days. Married, has two daughters.

Marketing Manager: Ella Usova, graduated from Tashkent Institute of Construction. Works with advertisers and other printings in Tashkent. Has worked 4 years in various prints of Tashkent. Works in “Time Out” for half a year already. Single, has an adult son.

Designer and art director: there have been 4 of them since the formation of the magazine. Malika Alieva worked on the first edition, the 4 following editions were published by Irina Evstigneeva. However, the most significant contribution to the artistic image of the magazine was made by Alexey Adylshin, who published the magazines in June, July, September, October, November (5 editions altogether). This young designer made the magazine cognate and more illustrated than the previous editions. At present time there is a new designer in the company, Umid Asadov, whose experience in prints makes up 6 years.

Accountant: Masuda Tagirova works in the company from the first days and always prompts on time how to distribute takings in the right way. Married to a respectable man and has adult children.

Translator and proofreader: Aygul Shafigulina. A second year student of Westminster International University in Tashkent (Faculty of Law). Responsible for the English language editing of the magazine. Works in the company for half a year already.

When working o each edition we receive help from young journalist: Emilia Asadova, Knostantin Serikov, Karina Bagdasarova. A great creative contribution was made by Artur Konovalov, whose photographs helped us make the magazine richly illustrated.

In August “Time Out” company has applied to the Republican patent authority for registering the “TIME OUT” trademark in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The positive decision on registration of the trademark was received on 2nd September,2004. Today “Time Out Tashkent” magazine is a monthly edition, in color, 52-60 A4 pages. It is distributed by subscription in the hotels of the Republic as well as in Embassies, representative offices of international organizations free of charge, sometimes under a special agreement on board of airplanes of some airlines. The magazine has continuant rubrics on traditions, applied art, interviews with the staff of Embassies, hotels, sport organizations, constantly increasing lists of restaurants of Tashkent and Bishkek, entertaining articles, and much, much more information which is not published on the site. In the near future, the company plans to start the publication of another informational- entertaining magazine in Russian language. Let’s make the world more interesting and revive the traditions of family reading!
