Event. 16th December Independence Day of the Republic of KazakhstanOn the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Embassy of this Republic in Tashkent organized a number of events, which allowed the inhabitants of Tashkent to become acquainted with the culture of this country. On the 10th of December in the exhibition hall of the Centre of Modern Art there was an exhibition of pictorial works of the Kazakh artist E.Kasteev and the applied art items: embroidery, tapestries and jewelry. The name of the artist E.Kasteev was included by the decision of UNESCO in the calendar of memorable dates. Looking at his canvases, one can trace the entire history of the Kazakh nation in the last century. On the miniature pictures of the scene from the life of batraks and bays, on the large pictorial canvases one can see the portraits of national poets and the scenes from the lives of the Soviet kolkhozniks (collective farmers).In the next hall, tapestries and embroideries were presented. The beauty of these works cannot be described, one has to see it for oneself.

There was a fashion show of female models on the same day in the evening at the Amir Timur hall of the InterContinental Hotel. It was organized together with "ASL-design" (Toraz city), "Caravan" art-gallery (Tashkent), boutique "Chelovechskaya odejda" (rus. "Human clothes", Tashkent) and "Figaro" model agency (Tashkent). After the welcoming speeches by the Ambassador Tleukhan Kabdrakhmanov and Natalya Musina, over 80 female models of clothes were demonstrated which were presumably divided into 4 nominations: creative models of the early nomads, the costumes of the times of the Turkic Kaganat, the costumes of the period of the formation of the State system and the modern Kazakh costumes. This show, timed to the Independence Day of the Republic, was also a New Year event. The rich buffet prior to the show, the elegant hall of the hotel and, undoubtedly, the original models created a festive atmosphere.
