Guest. Olga Yakubova

The advertisement of "Bahor" Restaurant intrigues our readers for a few months already. People ask us who is the girl from the advertisement? We invited her to the editorial office and had a talk. Meet Olga Yakubova - a dancer, photographer, winner of a photographic competition in the nomination "Public's favourite", a young mother and simply a lady with great plans for the future.

- Olga, where have you learned to dance? Or is this a family tradition?
- I danced for as long as I remember. No one dances in the family apart from me. My childish concerts forced my parents to let me continue my studies after school in the variety-circus college on the faculty of choreography. Here, I mainly practiced national dances. I learned Arabic dances when I came to the "Bahor" show-ballet. The leader of the show-ballet, Liana Yakimenko, a former dancer, manages it in many years already. In work in "Bahor" Restaurant for a few years already, one might say from the beginning.

- Did you have trips abroad?
- I went to Kazakhstan but performed only in Tashkent. In a month our show-ballet is going on a tour to India for a month. This is my first foreign trip.

- What other creative plans do you have? How often do you renew your repertoire?
- We have a large dance group. My repertoire depends on Liana who puts produces new dances every 6 months. My personal plans are not to stop in the state-of-the-art. Now I am student of the famous in Tashkent female photographer, Svetlana Kanaki. I am mastering the art of a photo-artist under her direction and I plan to go to Moscow to study in the Photo Academy.

- What is your favourite dance?
- I like dancing all the dances but my favourite is still Arabian. Oriental dances, and I dance Uzbek and Kazakh dances besides Arabian, are considered to be difficult dances. In the Uzbek dance, for example, the face mimicry and expressiveness of gestures is very important. The hand, eyebrow and shoulder movements should uncover and convey the words of the song. The Arabian dance is so womanly. I would call it a love dance.

- Yes, you perform is so beautifully, and your costumes are very beautiful. Where do you get the costumes?
- Some costumes are brought from abroad, some are made to order here in Tashkent.

- How much does a scenic costume cost, if it is not a secret?
- We have an Arabic costume, which was brought from abroad two years ago, at the cost of US$800. In Tashkent costumes are sewn for US$150 - 200.

- You, probably, love Eastern cuisine as well?
- Yes, I love Turkish cuisine. I love the éclairs in the "Efendi" cafe.

- Do you like cooking yourself?
- I can cook something depending on my mood.

- If you are in a bad mood, how do you overcome this situation?
- I am rarely in a bad mood. My work, my small son, the friendly girls of our group make me happy. There was a difficult period in my life in 2003 and I decided to participate in a photo competition. I did not have professional photographs before, I even had complexes about my looks. But when professional photographs were required by the terms of the competition I turned to Svetlana Kanaki. She uncovered a photo model in me. I reached the final. Now Svetlana is my teacher of photography. By the way I do not plan to stay a dancer my whole life. I will continue studying. My success in that competition and acquaintance with new interesting people helped me to overcome depression.

- If our magazine holds a photo competition, will you take part in it?
- Yes, it will be interesting for me. But maybe I will take part as a photographer (laughs).

- Your youth recipe? How to preserve the freshness of face and the eye shine?
- The right time management gives an opportunity to sleep well. I think that the best cosmetologist is a healthy, sound and timely sleep.

- What is your attitude and wishes on St. Valentine's Day?
- This is a bright holiday for me. It pleases to see how sweethearts give each other presents and reunite. They treat everything with such trepidation. I like this holiday although I don't have my significant other, except my son.

- By the way, what is his name? Did he inherit your love for dancing?
- No, my son Artur (he is 2 years and 4 months) is growing up to be a real man. He is not interested in dancing. Like all boys he likes fighting and playing football. He sits at home with his grand mother for the time being, does not go to kindergarten and plays at home. We have a broken chandelier and TV as a result of his games. This our footballer.

- Does he let his mother go to work?
- Very reluctantly. He says: "Don't go to work, I will work myself"

- Your wishes for the holiday.
- I wish everyone to find their significant other this year. And for those who found him or her, I wish to keep their love pure and wonderful.

We subscribe to Olga's wishes and are waiting for your questions at: timeout@buzton.com
