Dear Time Out!
For the first time, I have seen Time Out Tashkent in July 2004, when I came to Tashkent city. As a person dealing with tourism and culture, I found it very interesting and useful. Especially, the articles about traveling, national foods, famous restaurants and their whereabouts attracted my attention greatly. Then, in the Tashkent Tourism Fair in October 21-23, I have seen another issue of it. From then on, I kept asking newspaper stands but I couldn't find it (the only question is to find the issues on time; I would like to subscribe it if possible.)
Now, I am very pleased to find December/January and February 2005 issues. I have noticed with pleasure the development of the magazine in its content as well as the quality of printing and pictures. As a foreigner, I found very useful information about Uzbekistan. Especially, interviews, articles about cultural life, information about restaurants, radio stations and their frequencies helped us greatly. Rather than just giving advertisements of restaurants and clubs you give explanations and ratings about them. That's what I liked most about the magazine.
Many thanks for your contribution to understanding the cultural life in Tashkent city. I wish the continuation and success of the magazine and congratulate all those who work for its improvement.

- This letter was addressed to our editor's office. From our side, we would like to remark that the Embassy of Turkey is one of the few Embassies that help us in providing information about their countries. We thank the Embassy staff for critical remarks and wishes. We will continue trying to make the magazine even more interesting. We are waiting for remarks and proposals from other readers.
Spring's Beauty
Spring is a smile of the Nature,
Coming to wake the alive

Occurring external faзade,
Marvelous, splendid and gorgeous
Are coming to street and boulevard.
As to internal transforming,
Piercing souls and hearts -

Flex - Future Leaders Exchange 2004 - 2005, Makhkamova Barno
Country: Uzbekistan, Tashkent
State: South Carolina, Lexington
Host Family: The Younts
Hi, Uzbek teens! I wanted to say thanks to Time Out Tashkent for giving me such a chance to share my experiences with the teenagers of Uzbekistan. Last year, in 2004, I went to ACCELS to take an exam. I was so nervous. I thought, "I can't do it". But now I am in America. I have been living in the state of South Carolina for almost 6 months and rocking in my difficult but incredibly interesting experiences. I met American friends at school and went shopping with them sometimes. This is not all I am doing in America. I am also learning American history and American lifestyle. However I have discovered during my trip a opportunity to teach our culture to my American friends and others I meet. They all were so interested in our country. Many people know about Uzbekistan, but they are not informed well about Asian countries. Therefore, when I made presentations at my school many students asked a lot of questions about Uzbekistan.
I am an exchange student of American Councils and Future Leader Exchange (FLEX). The exchange students' goal is to encourage good relations with the American nation. I encourage you to take part in this program, study in America, live with a host family, and experience many good adventures in the future. Believe me, it is a very good trip to find yourself and help the other future exchange students to see how to have an interesting experience just like you.
First of all, I thank my mother for insisting that I pursue this experience. In my opinion, my mother played a great role in my success in passing all the exams. Also I want to say a great thanks to American Councils and members of FLEX program for giving me such a big opportunity to travel overseas and learn the culture of the great country of USA and study here.
Also, a very hot, hot thanks to my organization and host family for being so awesome and ready to help when I needed their help while I am far from my motherland and family.
Finally, I want to urge the Uzbek youth to participate in all the actions initiated by ACCELS - it is an experience you won't regret, guys!!!
